Congratulations to all of this year's college and high school graduates! On Mother's Day, my nephew Jayde completed a major milestone of his life. He walked across the stage to receive his bachelor's degree in Visual Communication from Metro State University of Denver. A week prior, two of his siblings also graduated from college, receiving their associate degrees. Congrats to you all! Back in late December, my sister and her family paid a visit to the DC area. During their trip, I showed them around DC to see a few of the monuments and the new MLK memorial. We paused for a moment at the World War I memorial to capture a casual portrait of their family. Little did we know, it would set the bar for any portraits of them from that moment forward.
