Obama Rally in Bristow, VA

By Thursday, November 8, 2012July 19th, 2014Events

During the final weekend before the 2012 presidential election, I finally had the chance to attend a rally in Virginia for one of the candidates. This was the first one my schedule permitted since it was not held on a weekday afternoon. On that cold night of November 3rd, after waiting for several hours, I got to see (in person) two U.S. Presidents take the stage at the same time… President Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama. The energetic crowd of 24,000 cheered throughout the night, while listening to every word each speaker had to say.

The two presidents were preceded in the program by congressman Gerry Connolly, former Virginia governor Tim Kaine and Delegate Luke Torian. Miss America 2010 helped open the program by singing the national anthem. Dave Matthews added to the lineup, with an acoustic performance of several songs. Congratulations to Barack Obama for being re-elected President of the United States.
