Last week, the nation’s capital was treated to one of this year’s first signs of Spring. Washington DC’s famous cherry blossoms peaked to pink perfection. They were a couple of weeks late this year, but the crowds still showed up for the colorful display. I took yet another stroll along the tidal basin, simply taking in the natural beauty of the mature trees. While approaching the area, I noticed that the Washington Monument had scaffolding half way up, in preparation for structural repairs. So, I decided to try something different… turn away from the monuments. This was a different approach from previous years, but I was up for the challenge. Enjoy!
